Grilled PB& J

I saw a grilled PB &J sandwich on my explore page on Instagram and I wanted to try it right then! A few days later I went to the store and purchased all the ingredients I needed to make the sandwich. This sandwich is AMAZING! The peanut butter is still creamy but not sticky once it melts and it just fuses so perfectly with the jelly. The bananas added an excellent change of consistency and flavor (they do not get mushy either!). I do recommend using a thicker bread for eating experience but it is not necessary to do so in regards to keeping the sandwich together or anything like that. Lastly, this grilled PB & J sandwich is veryyyy rich so I won’t be eating it on a regular basis but it is excellent comfort food for both taste and an upgraded throwback PB & J sandwich that tastes just as good as you remember…but better!

Ingredients:

Thick cut bread (I used Farmer’s Bread from Lidl)

Peanut Butter or nut butter of your choice

Jelly 

Banana (optional)

Honey (optional)

Himalayan salt (optional)

Butter

Prep:

Cut your bred in thick slices (the bread I purchased was an uncut loaf. However, you can always buy thick cut bread that has already been cut)

Cut your banana into thin slices

Instructions:

Butter one side of each slice of your bread

Add peanut butter to the non-buttered side of the bread. If you would like to sprinkle some salt onto the PB and then add honey and top it off with your desired amount of banana slices

Add jelly to the non-buttered side of the bread (I used strawberry jelly because…yum!)

Place the buttered sides of the bread into a skillet

Once the bread has developed some crust, flip one side (PB or jelly side) onto the other. (I flipped the jelly side onto the PB side because I felt it would be easier to do because of the banana.)

Continue to flip your sandwich until it has developed the crust your desire

Remove your sandwich from the heat and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes

Cut your sandwich diagonally in half (or cut it how your would like to or not…just know that the diagonal cut is the superior cut. Who agrees?)
